The iconic Australian TV show The Curiosity Show revived

The well-remembered Australian kid’s television show, The Curiosity Show, is back and going viral on social media platforms. The show grabbed the imagination of Aussie kids and taught them short science experiments that they could try at home. The show started in South Australia but started running nationally in 1972 and ended in 1990.

In the year 2013, Rob Morrison and Deane Hutton secured its full rights after Banksia, the production company, went into liquidation. Perhaps, you have already watched some of the 5,000 segments they have placed on YouTube.

A Sunday to remember: Unibet punter wins 43K from $250 quinella bet

One Unibet punter has a Sunday afternoon to remember in his life after winning over $40,000 in Moruya third race. The Sydney-based punter placed $250 quinella bet nearly ten minutes before the race started and watched Brendan Ward hustling $11 shot to the lead after he broke from barrier nine in this 1425m event.

After Monterey Magic established an early lead at 300m mark, the Sydney-based punter watched nervously as $41 shot John Boy landed the bet at second place. $43,000 was the return of the punter’s $250 short time investment.

Melbourne golfer beats over-the-top odds and scores two holes-in-one

A Melbourne amateur golfer, Jim Grant, swung about at the wrong moment, missed seeing his hole-in-one, but got an astonishing second chance after scoring the second ace six holes later. After acing the 11th and 17th holes at the Green Acres Golf Course in Kew, Melbourne East, Jim Grant went into denial.

Grant said that he hit the lovely 8-iron up and thought that the ball would get closer and turned to the fellas to tell them his thought, but they were all eying him up and down. He had missed going in.

Six holes later, the golfer asked the people he was playing with whether there were chances of that happening again. “One of them flippantly said that it was around 60-million-to-one and he stood up to hit the 5-iron.” It went in and all of them went into denial. The ball was already in the hole.

American hitchhiker enjoys a helicopter ride

Chris Hemsworth pleased an American hitchhiker after he gave him a ride to Byron Bay from Brisbane in a helicopter. Today, the Thor star is labelled “true Aussie Champion” for the kindness act to Scott Hildebrand, a musician, who had just arrived from Mexico.

Later, Hemsworth posted the full video on his social media account. They picked a hitchhiker who happened to be a popular musician. He captioned the Instagram post, which amassed around 2 million views within one day. In the video, Hemsworth jokingly told Hildebrand that he was to contribute for the gas, which he reckons as AU$40,000. Hildebrand’s experience was good and unexpected.

Adelaide’s Awer Mabil sarts his soccer journey

Hard work and determination takes Adelaide’s Awer Mabil from a refugee camp to scoring his debut goal on international football big stages. Mabil, a skilful winger, scored the debut goal during his first appearance for Socceroos in the 88th minute of their game against Kuwait at the Al Kuwait Sports Club Stadium.

In the fitting moment, Thomas Deng (Mabil’s childhood friend) who also made his debut for the team was first to share the moment with him. The Socceroos won the game, which is their first away under their new coach Graham Arnold. The result was 4-0 with Tom Rogic and Apostolos Giannou joining the score sheet.
